Welcome Sawduster. Is WNC = West North Carolina? Anywhere near Murphy? Also a name like sawduster seems to imply woodworking?

Welcome to MobileRead, SawDuster. Let us know specific questons.....or go to our wiki (look at the top of the page)

If you click on 'dedicated ebook devices' it will list those available, give facts and even give a link to the manuals to download if you choose.

Enjoy.

Welcome to MobileRead. You've stumped the panel with 'WNC', but Google seems to believe that means 'Western North Carolina'.

Deciding on a reader can be difficult. First of all, you have to get past the fact that you're going to be spending a significant amount of money, and that makes you cautious to try and get the very best reader you can find. The next factor in your decision making is availability. Not all readers are being sold in every country. A clever person can manage to get any device, but there is more difficulty when the producer hasn't introduced it in your country. And then one critical factor is the availability of books to read on the device you've selected. This is much more an issue if you want current releases. The wiki here at MobileRead can help you sort through these issues and understand what each device offers in the way of extra features.

In the USA, the most prevalent readers come from Sony and Amazon. I own one of each and can attest that both are excellent systems. I prefer my Kindle, but that may be because it was the first one I bought. Also, Amazon's store is so easy to use and the prices are good. Where the Sony wins out is the availability of the lighted cover and the fact that it supports ePub as well as the native format. That opens up more stores to purchase books from.

If you're interested in the classics, be sure to check out the library here at MobileRead.

We're glad you found us and are looking forward to getting to know you better.

Hi Sawduster and welcome to the Forum. I got a Sony 505 a little over a year ago and like it a lot.

Yes, WNC is Western North Carolina near Weaverville.
At this point I'm leaning toward a Sony reader because a Kindle seems to have limitations as to what can be loaded into it.
