Can't sideload to mini?
I tried to sideload from Calibre. It said the books were there but I don't see them.

It should work. The things to check are:
- Were the books actually copied to the Mini's drive? They should, but check to make sure the files are there using explorer or Finder or whatever you OS has. - When you disconnected from the computer, did a processing screen get displayed? This is a black screen that has "Processing" on it and a percentage that increases. If that isn't shown, then the Mini didn't see any new books. |

You need to also check what format the books were in, and whether they were DRM-protected. What books are they and where did you get them from?

Thanks, David. When I go into it to see files like a USB they are there but that may be the case with that screen.
Meera. All epubs, mostly PD from Gutenberg. My Kobo WiFi is working fine but I'm really disappointed with the Mini. It has been very frustrating so far. It also says it has connection problems when it is connection with the WiFi. I have factory reset it three times. I hate the "soft reset" and don't think I did that correctly the first time I tried. I think I have to send it back. Last edited by covingtoncat73; 11-16-2013 at 08:58 AM. |

So, did the black processing screen get displayed when you disconnected from the PC?
If you can see the books on the device when connected, then they should be seen by the device. Where are you putting them? There have been issues with books with errors in them. When the device disconnects, it processes all new books it finds and adds them to the internal database. If the device finds a bad book, then it stop processing all of them. If this happened to be the first book it found, then you won't get any added. If this is what is happening, then you need to remove all the books and add them back in small batches until you find the bad book. But, what I would do first is to add a book that is known to be good. Get an epub from the library here at MR and add it after you remove the other books. |
