New Cloud Storage Provider - Bitcasa

Just came across this Bitcasa who are currently offering 10GB of storage free with the ability to access data anywhere. Supposedly you can specify what folders on your drive to mirror with Bitcasa (as opposed to Dropbox who mirror content from your Dropbox folder). |

Never ceases to amaze me how willing people are to grant others access to their computers and data.

I'm not being negative. I'm being surprised. It would be one thing to upload data that is not sensitive using a trusted ftp client, but installing an app or running an app from a web page that allows access to a computer that may have personal information is kind of crazy. And we do it ALL THE TIME.

This was mentioned on the CNET MarketPlace blog

by Rick Broida (The daily "The Cheapskate" article), Apparently, they are also offering 1 year of unlimited access for $69 (USD, of course). Now THAT'S a pretty good deal too, especially if you are trying to figure out how to work "the cloud" into your work life and want an extended trial without worrying about restrictions. In truth though, I've found the free 5 gig I get from Google Drive to be adequate for my needs. Last edited by GlenBarrington; 02-06-2013 at 01:19 PM. |
