What is the name of...
...those children's books where you have two choices at the end of each page, each one directing you to a different page? Only the right combination of choices leads you to the final page of the book.

I believe the original series was an offshoot of "dungeons and dragons" type stuff and was called something like "fighting fantasy". I remember them from my teenage years in the 1970s.

Yeah, I still have two or three of the Fighting Fantasy books lying around. I remember dying a lot in these books -- but it was fun^^

I think the authors were Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson. Of Games Workshop fame.

I was thinking of this some time ago and wondering if these were available for ebook readers. It would seem to be a nice and simple use of links. Any publishers around to take the hint?
I see now that these "interactive fiction" books were discussed recently here: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...active+fiction Last edited by vivaldirules; 02-16-2008 at 10:56 AM. |

Wow, some really cool memories there! Of course this was way before computers were feasable for home use. I had quite a few Lone Wolf series of "Choose Your Own Adventure" books and I think I had a few with the D&D stamp as well. I think I may even still have a few packed away in storage. Kinda tough to part with. These would be really excellent ports to an eReader to jump to pages, etc.
