RTF conversion problem

Hi All,
My first post here, so be gentle !
Have been using Calibre to manage my book collection in conjunction with a Kindle Paperwhite 1. Really useful !
But I recently downloaded a pile of rtf format books, and find they do not convert very well to mobi format. They have hard coded line breaks at around the 30th character in each line, and Calibre seems not to remove them, no matter what I try.
I attach the Calibre conversion log, and one of the rtf files.
Tried setting heuristics on and off, but made no difference, the hard line breaks stay there, and of course wreck the normal text flow needed for Kindle.
Of course I can just open a file in Word and fix it manually, but I have around 50 of these, and probably more to come, so this is a bit painful.

I am sure that a simple regex search and replace would fix this, but I am no expert at regex expressions. Before I spend more time, maybe someone already has a solution ?

Regards,
Adrian

Fair enough. Here is excerpt which still shows the problem.

But I also found a possible solution from another suggestion. Open the book in LibreOffice, save as .odt, and then add that to Calibre. That seems to work, although is still a bit of a process.

Reduce the 'Unwrap Factor number by a small amount
(Obviously, the Heuristic option needs to have been enabled)

[OT] Love your new avatar, Ducks. That little kitty looks real serious. Food dish? I've been sitting here cracking up for about ten minutes, looking at that.

Now I'll shut up,

Thanks for the suggestion.

I think I tried 0.3 and 0.1 when I first payed with this, but neither made any difference. I will re-try now I know a bit more about the process, since its much easier to do all the conversion within Calibre, rather that use several different external programs, depending on the file type and contents.

Yikes! those are BIG amounts.

.45 > .43 is a small amount

Remember to do this in the Conversion screen for all Prior conversions. Once converted, Calibre remembers the settings used, PER BOOK unless cleared
