Using version 0.9.11, tables converted from HTML to Mobi are having borders added to them. Neither the table attribute border='0' nor style="border: none" override this. The tables look fine in the browser (no border) but the Mobi document has borders.
The only way I have found to get rid of the borders is to use style="border-style: hidden". |

Convert to azw3 instead. MOBI has very limited support for tables.
