Hello all. This is a great forum. Looking about for kindle stuff brought me here and here I will stay. I have a Kindle on order at Amazon and am looking forward to getting one. Being an avid reader I have ambivalent feelings about this e-ink tech. On the one hand, it seems environmentally friendly, but shall I long for an actual copy of a book. The arguments for and against continue to spin in my head, but being a tech-junkie I know I must have one. However, after going through the post on this and many other sites, Sony's readers seem more popular (i'm sure they are better built) --but with whispernet...I can't fathom buying another reader (yet). Anyway...HI

Welcome to MobileRead, pippin65!

I hope you thoroughly enjoy your eminently arriving Kindle.

One thing you may find helps soothe your ache for the paper version of books is when you realize that you don't have to find shelf-space for the e-books you buy.

Hi pippin65 and welcome to the Forum. I had the same concerns as you about ebooks vs paper versions. Then I got my 505 and one day noticed I was absentmindedly moving my right hand up to the upper right corner of the 505 to physically turn the page. That was when I realized I was hooked on ebooks.
