now, there's no email sign-up for the first item, but we can wishlist the second one - from this can i safely assume that kindle touch wifi only will be made available for international customers in near future?

i'm a "touchy person" and if the chances are slim about getting the kindle touch, i guess i've to wait and watch and hope they'll bring out a 2nd generation paperwhite next year - sans the shortcomings.

Have you seen a PW for yourself? The much-reported "shortcomings" are wildly exaggerated, to my mind*. I think the PW is excellent.

*Which is not to say that they aren't "real" to those who find them objectionable. But I think those who do find the minor colour fringing which are inherent in the light diffuser objectionable are in the small minority. I suggest that you try to find one to see for yourself and make up your own mind.
