2.5.2 Update - WiFi Problems
Has anyone else experience WiFi connection issues following update to firmware 2.5.2? Once I upgraded, I can no longer connect to my WiFi network. About 1 second into the sync I get an error that says "Network Error - Oops, something happened to your Internet connection and we couldn't finish your update. Please check your connection & try again."
There's nothing wrong with my internet or WiFi connection. I've tried everything from reconnecting/entering WiFi password on the Kobo, paperclip reset, and power off/on, yet nothing results in being able to sync. ![]() |

That won't be helpful for you, but I have no problem using the WIFI on the Aura (2.5.2) or the Mini (2.5.2).
Good luck to you ![]() |

If you haven't already done so try powering off your router. Leave it off for 10 minutes then power on again.
That solved a problem I had with my BT Home Hub vs my Samsung Galaxy. |

I have had no problems with WiFi on my Aura, but I find it connects quicker if I go into Settings and connect to my WiFi network before hitting the Sync button. I am not sure if I am making any sense....a couple of times I switched on WiFi and then immediately hit the sync button (did not connect to my network before hitting sync) and it took a while for it to work...had the daisy wheel going for a bit, but the sync did work eventually.

Not sure what happened, but later in the day I was finally able to connect via WiFi, and every subsequent connection attempt afterwards has gone through just fine.

Same problem here. My wifi access point works fine with every devices (computers, Chumby, iPad, etc) but my Aura HD is only able to connect once every blue moon.
The message I got is "Erreur Impossible de se connecter à « Banquise ». Essayer un autre réseau s'il vous plaît." It is immediately followed by the message "Une erreur s'est produite… Veuillez réessayer." The router does see the Aura HD connecting, but the tablet is not able to maintain the connection. Also, the Aura HD is able to connect to some other wifi access points. My wifi is provided by a Linksys WRT54G/GL/GS running DD-WRT v24-sp2 (05/17/11) std-nokaid-nohot-nostore. This probably isn't the actual WiFi connection. The Kobo devices are attempting to reach a URL when they connect. If they can't, they drop the connection and return an error. There has been some discussion here on workarounds to prevent this.

Same problems here with 2.6.1 and 2.6.2 . Connection to Wifi works, but only in 1 out off 20 trys. I've tried with a kobo mini and kobo touch. Same for both devices.
Any ideas how to fix that ? All other devices run very well with my wifi router. |

I think I've solved mine's
Hi,
After login into the device via usbnet and doing the following, the wi-fi connection appear to have been restored to normal and a firmware update followed. Code:
cp /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf.template /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf The wpa_supplicant.conf file could have been corrupted with invalid parameters. Alternatively, someone may prepare a KoboRoot.tgz with a single /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf file packaged with the correct parameters (also note that it is supplied as wpa_supplicant.conf.template on the device). Hope it helps, |

Hi! I have a problem with wifi connection.
With 2.8.1 i had not any problem, but with 2.10 and 3.0.0 i noticed that i can connect to my router address only the first time i turn on the kobo. After the first successful attempt, if i turn off wifi, when i turn on the second time and try to connect, an error message appears. So i have to turn off kobo and turn it on again, and this cicle repeats itself Please can someone help me? Thanks ![]() |

Maybe with a detail or two someone could come along and help. Router setup? Password protection/encryption details? Details of the error message?
I have a Glo with sideloaded 3.0 and haven't been able to replicate your issue. Last edited by meeera; 11-16-2013 at 05:35 AM. |

Hi.
With 2.8.1 i too had not any problem, but with 3.0.0 had problems. Kobo Glo. Mixed WPA2/WPA-PSK. Access password changed by a simple numerical, the network made public - does not help. |
