A benefit of the new Kindles over the Keyboard that I've never seen mentioned!

I just happened to stumble across this:

Looks like the Touch (and presumably the Paperwhite) can connect to enterprise networks. When I try on my Keyboard, I get:

Enterprise or peer-to-peer Wi-Fi networks are not supported. Try connecting to another network.

Yeah! When I get my Paperwhite I'll finally be able to sync and download during lunch at work!!!

Looks like this only applies to the Touch, not the basic Kindle:

Kindle does not connect to enterprise or ad-hoc Wi-Fi networks (networks that allow peer-to-peer connections without a wireless access point). Keep in mind that you must be within range of one or more Wi-Fi networks in order to connect to one.

It can be done with a hack, on any wifi kindle.

I know, but I've not gotten around to messing with it. Having an interface for it is easier than manually editing config files. :-)

Yes, "Enterprise WPA" (aka WPA-EAP) is supported on the K5 (with FW >= 5.1.0). So it almost certainly is also supported on the Paperwhite.

Can you point out where there is described please? I've tried looking in the sticky thread but can't find anything. I've got a new Kindle 4 black by the way, and was rather disappointed when I couldn't connect it to my work's network.

Thanks for the links. I think I'll give it a miss though as it looks way too complicated. Maybe Amazon will add it in a future 4.x firmware.

It all depends on how badly you want it, and where you wish to invest your time and effort. It would certainly be easier if somebody would wrap a GUI around it, to make the configuration changes easier for adding enterprise networking to the older firmware versions.
