Thanks, Obliv. A couple are very tempting, but...
Alas, the special pricing seems to be for those with paid memberships only. (I've got an audible account, but no membership, and they show as regular price.)
Audible frequently does this (limiting specials to members only). Good sale, good books, I just don't listen to audiobooks enough to justify a membership.

5 new clues today. Well, not exactly new since these ones are classics.

I have a free account and the sale is showing up for me. Did you ever have a paid membership? That could be the key. I converted a paid membership to a basic non-paid membership in Dec 11.

The "basic" that you have is no longer available. The cheapest option is Light, for $10 a year, if you want the sales and member offers, like Hans and I have.

KentE, you can get a trial membership, or, if you are a former member, call them and ask to get a promotional deal to come back, (or just join at regular price, of course) then after the promo period, cancel, and you'll be offered the Light membership.

Thanks, Hans, APK, and Tubemonkey!
No, I've never had a paid membership at Audible: their website doesn't seem to be organized to let you figure out the cheapest way to do so, so I really do appreciate the tips!
I'm pretty new to this, and so far I wouldn't use a regular paid membership enough to make sense for me. The "light" option might be doable, and would definitely pay off for me if it kept me eligible for their "members only" specials even after cancelling membership-- a couple of purchases would easily justify it. And it would be a great idea for my retired sister-in-law on a fixed income, who loves audio books but can't afford regular prices.
Thanks!

If you are a basic member you can stay a basic member, but no one is now being offered a basic membership.

If only monkeys had the memory of elephants, because you participated in another thread on that very topic just a few weeks back!

I picked up Riptide by Douglas Preston, Lincoln Child When I saw it was narrated by Scott Brick one of my favourite narrators I couldn't resist. When I looked it up on goodreads there was a link to an article on the Money Pit which was apparently the real life inspiration for the story. I had a quick skim through the article and found it rather fascinating http://www.prestonchild.com/books/ri...uries;art45,47

Some are not available in the US, i.e. regionally restricted? Are you getting the same message, or is there a problem with my settings?

"Spartan Gold" from the first day appears to be unavailable for US users, perhaps someone with a US account can check.

The other ones from day 1 and 2 can all be accessed -- but I have received the same error message for a few other items I have put on my wish list previously.

Sorry misread your original message I run a US account following the link in the OP of this thread to get to Spartan Gold, I can add it to my cart it shows up as $31.93 price and you pay $0.00 as it's trying to use my Credit, I tick of the credit box update the cart and it changes to $6.95
I did notice though that the second time I visited the Add to cart button was missing then I realised that was because it was already in the cart
