PRIMAL WOUND - New Psychological Thriller, $2.99

A young woman sets out to find her birthmother and uncovers a family saga of deceit, insanity, and murder. Part Hitchcock, part Stephen King, certainly disturbing and scary.

When Cicely Scott volunteers to be a kidney donor for her father, she is shocked to discover she is adopted. Suddenly she has lost herself, her history, her identity, her family. But she gains something else. She is free to become whomever she wants to be, informed neither by genetics nor family, but by her own set of ethics. Does that include the license to kill?

Cicely leaves her privileged life in San Francisco to find her birthmother, a frumpy beautician, one step above trailer trash, who lives in rural New Hampshire with her family. She spies on them, insinuates herself into their lives, and befriends her half sister. But her birthmother is terrified when Cicely reveals herself. Why?

Meanwhile, in San Francisco, Homicide Inspector Val Picard tries to track down the murderer of a young preschool teacher who worked with Cicely. Soon Cicely becomes a suspect.

Lies and betrayal lead to the ultimate crime—murder. But who is at fault?

Hope you enjoy it. --Ruth Francisco

This is one of the best three novels I've ever read, and I'm really picky.

Terrific article, Ruth. I love that the Indie Spotlight website. My thriller, ABSOLUTION, was featured earlier this month. My prior career as a professional musician greatly influenced my fiction writing. I would love to hear how your work in films influenced your fiction writing.

Thanks and best of luck with your sales!

Susan, Thanks for letting me know about your book. I read the first chapter, then downloaded it. I love New Orleans stories, and this looks great! Good luck.

Thanks! I'm so happy you'll be reading it. Perhaps when you're done you'll let me (and others) know how you liked it.

Meantime, I'm saving my pennies ... expect to buy a Kindle by end October.

Of course, I will, Susan. Also, planning my first trip to New Orleans this fall on the way to the Austin Film Festival. Very excited about it.

Thank you, Vicki. I am quite thrilled by your success. Whenever I try to explain to someone what kind of cover they need in order to publish on ebooks, I always use Thin Blood as an example. I hope you get some sales from it.

If you haven't seen it, October Baby has a very interesting take on the birth mother search. Very different than Primal Wound, though.

The anti-Mother's Day novel. My protagonist kills, not one, but two of her mothers. Wishful thinking perhaps?
