Extracting apps from Nook?

Is it possible to extract a default app from a Nook Simple Touch (to then try to transfer it only a different device)?

I have a paid subscription for The New Yorker, which is delivered (I think) through a default app existing on the Nook.
I will soon replace my Nook with a Sony T1 though (which runs Android as well), but there is no app available for that reader that could handle this subscription.
So I was hoping that I could somehow transfer the whole thing over.

This may be naive thinking, but I figured it can't hurt to ask...

(The Nook is not rooted, btw.)

If you intend to remain unrooted, then definitely not, and even if rooted, still not possible for Nook-only apps.
