ssh: How to stop connection failing?
After a short while, usually seconds but not more than a few minutes,
ssh closes silently on kindle,
debian responds:"connection failed: activation of network connection failed"

using debian wheezy on mac-mini with usb to jailbroken k5 Touch in sleep mode,
ie screensaver is showing...

Your host machine's system is probably trying to auto-configure the network in the background while you're manually configuring it otherwise (e.g. on command line). It eventually fails. So: either disable USB network auto-configuration (on the host machine!), or configure it to suit the proper settings for the Kindle (but note that this does somehow not work for me since it is entangled with the MAC address, which changes).

The processor must be awake to run the code. (Duh...)
Use the KUAL "Prevent Screensaver" button to keep it awake.

partprobe not enough,
is there something else, rather than reboot?

screensaver does not indicate sleep mode....

There have been previous discussion about if sleep mode kills ssh.
In a nutshell "Generally Yes".

just try it. assuming you have connection. that is probably the issue.

As KNC1 says. this is on a KUAL button for user convenience also.
