Sony PRS 600 acting up

I would love some advice from the experts here:

Out of the blue, my downloads from Kobo to Reader Library (set as default Open With) are going into a new folder on my c drive. When I try to sync, the reader it can't find the book so I have been adding books and syncing via Calibre. I can't figure out how to reset the folder on my c drive that the Open With Reader Library downloads to.

Today I downloaded from a seller not used before using default Open With setting but can't find the file anywhere on my computer. I can see it in the Reader Library app under the Computer tab (likely the temp download folder?)but does not show up in Library/Books tabs nor can I find it on my c drive so unable to Add Book in Calibre.

I am thinking of reinstalling both the Adobe Digital Editions (it won't let me change my email to my current email or log in with the old address and password I opened the account with) and the Reader Library software then, start over with a fresh install. Is this a bad/good idea?

Thanks to anyone who had the time to reply.
Peggy

The tech rep did not help me with the original issue because on my own I decided to reinstall the reader library software, latest version. That set into motion a new set of problems that led me to live chat. I had to set up a new adobeID and lost all my books that were in the Sony folder on my computer. They are still in calibre so I might be able to sync to the reader but have not yet. I am not too concerned because I have read all the books lost on the reader. My main concern was getting newly purchased books onto my computer and being able to sync with Sony software.
