Top link dead. Bottom two URLs good. My K4 fits in a T-shirt pocket.

I had both the K3 and K4 for a several months. Screens are the same size and viewing contrast was about the same. The K4 is a nice reader especially if you like the smaller footprint. In practice I found I used the K3 way more than the K4 as the K4 was more difficult to enter text into. I didn't like the silver-grey finish of the K4, preferring the charcoal-grey of the K3 which doesn't reflect light as much. The glare from the K4 body, not screen, while reading was enough to make my eyes strain a bit too much.

I have both and prefer the K4, because it's smaller and the keyboard is gone.
I keep it in a black Marware SportGrip cover. The silicone is very grippy and the black color covers up the reflective silver finish. |

I have both and find myself reading on the K4 much more. It's just more comfortable for me to hold (and carry when out and about).

K3 with 3G is the greatest tech device ever because you can read a wide spectrum of news, and email, for free, almost anywhere in the world.
For me, the killer app for the Kindle, if you spend most of your time in the US, is the New York Times Latest News Blog at $1.99 a month. This would be fine on the newer 3G eInk Kindles, but I couldn't then, except at home, go and check at the other text newspapers I have bookmarked. Book reading? Nice on all of them, as it was when I read books on my Palm, and as it remains on paper. Last edited by SteveEisenberg; 07-18-2012 at 10:05 PM. |
