Hello PRS-600
Hello, I have been reading a lot about the PRS-600 as I just bought one. I know what you're thinking, but I got it, the leather Sony cover with the built in reading light, and shipping all for $34 dollars. How could I not give it a shot? It works perfect and is in excellent condition. Anyway, I thought I would join up, since I have gotten a lot of great information already.
I bought it to read PDF manuals while I am out at my job waiting in my truck. It does a pretty good job. I see the contrast/clarity problem, but I can live with it for now. I love Sony products and have for years, so when I upgrade, it will probably be to a Sony PRS-950 or the T-1, as I would like to have the WIFI instead of relying only on USB. I just have to wait long enough for the price to get right! Much better than trying to use a laptop in the sunlight for sure. Les |

Hi Les and welcome to MobileRead. If you're like me, I recommend against WiFi. Problem with it is, you have a few drinks at night and you start buying books. Maybe I need rehab.
Any, welcome aboard. |

PRS-600 Works Great!
This unit is perfect for using outdoors to read in the cab of my truck. The reflection is not a problem at all and the print is just that much better. I don't care for having to use my PC to download books as the Sony Library seems a little flaky. I will end up with a WIFI unit, I can tell. I like the thought of downloading directly from my local library. I like the reviews on the PRS-T1, but I really like the metal cases on the older Sony units. No money to play with right now anyway, so, time will tell. Thanks, Les
