Hi everyone,

I've been an somewhat frequent lurker on this forum for quite a while. (I've actually linked to various posts in this form from my blog when the topic of eBooks come up.) It's been an incredible resource for my Sony Reader. I figured it's about time I joined up so I can keep better tabs on what's happening with the various readers out there.

I've enjoyed my Sony Reader for nearly a year, but I have to say I'm tempted by that new offering from Amazon... though the Mossberg review that came out a while ago cooled my jets a bit on that. Have a lot of people switched?

Welcome to MobileRead eBookMonkey. I have a 505. I used to have a 500 but I've since switched due to the newer Vizplex screen. I am happy with my 505. I don't see a need for a Kindle.

Welcome to the Forum. I just got a 505 and am very pleased with it.

Thanks guys! I think I'm going to stick with the 500 for the time being.

JSWolf: Aside from the improved screen, what other improvements have they made in the 505? It sounds like you'd be of the opinion that it's worth upgrading from the 500...
