Welcome to the forum, Nancy.

Can you give us more details, please?

I think you'll find that the ereader itself is not protected by DRM, only the ebook. So if you try to open an ebook which is infested with DRM on a reader which has not been registered with Adobe Digital Managements you won't be able to read it, and will get that message - unless you remove the DRM, but we are not allowed to to tell you how to do that. Apprentice Alf is very friendly, or private messages might help.

Does it give you the error with the same book you were reading or trying to open a *new* book? Does it do it with all books?

Commercial ebooks with DRM can't be simply copied over to a reader; they have to be downloaded directly via wifi or via Adobe Digital Editions on a PC. It is not a simple process and has a lot of ways it can glitch.

Was it a library book and the borrowed time period has elapsed? You'll get that message then too.
