Question Kobo touch broken/wont work!

this morning i got up to go somewhere and accidentally dropped my kobo. the back of it came off, and the page i was on at the time has somehow managed to go really strange-the writing overlapping itself. it won't turn off and it wont go to the homepage when i press the button. I was wondering if there's any solution to this problem.
i cant phone the kobo company because i'm currently holidaying in Pakistan.

If you need a reader while you're still on holiday, your retail choices in Pakistan seem to be mostly between Kindle or a tablet. You might be able to find a Kobo in the secondhand market, though.

You should probably try a factory reset before writing it off... Here's how:

Note that you will need to reload your books however... Which is probably better than having a Touch you can't read on.

I did a reset like you mention and I didn't have to reload my books.

Possibly I didn't hold the buttons down long enough but it just seemed to do a normal reset.
