Baen bundles and paypal

Gaaah. I bought the September bundle and was going to start a new chain but checked out with paypal and never got the option to gift the bundle. Got sent to paypal then returned to Baen but no next screen to pass it on. Sorry about that, next time I'll use credit card. So be warned, if you are wanting to start a new chain, don't use paypal.

That's a known issue when shopping there and apparently has something to do with how they only get the money from Paypal after some sort of delay, according to previous Baen's Bar discussions. You can contact their customer support, who are generally willing to manually issue a code.

But yeah, you basically have to pay with credit card or micropay in order for the system to provide the gift option to pass on.

I've made the assumption that the easiest way around this is to top up Baen's micropay system via Paypal and then use the micropay for the initial purchase. If this is not possible can someone let me know and I'll amend accordingly.

Thanks for pointing this out. I usually try to pay via PayPal when businesses offer it and I think that's the way I've done at Baen in the past. I was planning on buying a few of the older bundles, so I would have gotten bitten by this.
