copy text function missing in international version
Hi all -
In my Kindle for Mac software, when I select some text to copy it, I don't get the option to in the popup, even for .mobi's I made myself from a PDF - there's only "Highlight, Add Note, Search, and More". I read that "copy" is only available to US customers. Anyone know a way around it? Is it just the version of the software you download, or is it tied to your account location somehow? And what about the hardware Kindle? I was thinking about buying one, is "copy" also restricted to US ones? Thanks... |

The hardware Kindles don't have copy, as it doesn't make any sense. Copy to what? It has highlight, which puts a copy of the text into "My Clippings.txt", and into the list of Notes and Marks for the book.
The Kindle for PC, at least for me (in the US), has Copy, in addition to Highlight, Add Note, and More. It has search under the More heading. Maybe Copy is under More in yours? |

Maybe they haven't implemented this for Mac yet?
I remember that Kindle for PC had versions when "copy" was present (around 1.5-1.6), then this feature was gone for a few versions and now (1.9-1.10) it's again. |

"copy" is not under the "more" heading on my version.
It is implemented in the Mac version, but I read from Amazon that the copy function in the desktop reader is only available to U.S. customers. I can't find the link at the moment, but I can search again. I'll try somehow to download a U.S. version of the software and see if it works... |
