				Mud Client

Hi. 3rd Post, be kind As absurd as it might be, I'd quite like to play MUDs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MUD) on my KT. In fact I upgraded on the basis that I might be able to write/port something myself. I'm looking at tintin++ if porting. Now, anyone know of anyone working on one? I suspect it's not possible to make one out of WAFs, they seem to need more than Javascript to make the connections (but I could be wrong). Even web based ones need Flash for the connection system. Any information will be gratefully received. Ta |

I made a web based one using AJAX/Comet... and the server handled the telnet connections... and it works on my eReaders webbrowser so I'm covered if I actually wanted to do this... Also made one inside the MUD itself, so you could play old version of the MUD from within the MUD itself... good times... I don't think it would be much fun on a KT if you need an on screen keyboard to type. It's not much fun with a keyboard for that matter. MUDs tend to scroll a lot, and the eInk screen is just too slow to update. |

That one might be possible (might require one of the terminal emulators). I do not have any experience in "mud", so this is just a suggestion for research. | |

Mudlet's a little... busy.. for my liking. I prefer to play MUDs in Tintin++, a command line app. Source is happily available on Sourceforge, but I've not tried to compile it for KT. Any tips/pointers on how to start trying that?
