It'll be free for two days, according to Phoenix Pick's special KDP Select promo page, and bafflingly, the tie-in deal isn't for any of Kress' other titles (or any other e-books, for that matter), but a discount on some sort of author workshop thing which… doesn't seem like it would attract that many customers.

Anyway, it's a really good and highly recommended read and IIRC, a Hugo winner.

She's on the faculty for the workshop, which probably explains the tie-in. It's actually a pretty impressive faculty list, in case you ever wanted to combine a writer's workshop with cruising the Bahamas.

Must be a Phoenix Pick sponsored cruise/workshop. Per the SailSuccess site: "this site is maintained by Phoenix Pick." And it is featured on their promo page. But I agree, not sure how many people would be that interested.

I appreciate the free book, but I felt cheated on the Promo tie in. I mean it's one thing to get a 2nd or even 3rd book (depending on circumstances) at 50% off as that's something I might be able to afford, but $250.00 off of a cruise/workshop that I would have no chance of being able to afford is something else again. I think they should have had an option. Either a 2nd book by her at half off (like other promotionals earlier) or you could take the $250.00 off the cruise/workshop package. That way everyone would gain something instead of just a few well off people.
