Importing mobi

Just upgraded to 0.8.51. Tried importing some MOBI files and the program just hung and hung on the Adding screen. Tried several times without success. Eventually tried epubs and html and those came in ok. Is it just my system or is this something that others are experiencing?

Which method (Menu,Drag-n-Drop:Gui or Metadat or Auto-Add folder) of adding are you using?

I've imported a dozen Mobi books from FictionWise today with no problems at all. I always add books using drag and drop from Windows Explorer.

Attach one of these MOBI files that you cannot import (if they are not copyrighted).

The problem is not converting them. The problem is adding them to the library. I usually drag and drop on my old Mac Pro. This problem just started this week. I am using version 8.51. If I drag and drop an EPUB it adds to the library fine and I can then convert it to mobi. However, if I drag and drop a MOBI file it just runs and runs and eventually gives me an error "adding book appears to have hung...".

Kovid understands that it is when you import a book, hence the reason why he used the term import in his response to you. You might want to open a bug report and attach a book that will not import to the bug report.

I found the cause. By removing v5 tools plugins the importing started working again. I wonder why the plugin began to interfere with the process of importing?
