Need help with free app from Android Market...

I've been searching for the Dramafever app since it came out for Android, but can't find a direct download of the apk, and I don't have a rooted Kindle Fire. Recently it became available at Amazon, but it's shown as not compatible for the KF, so can't get it there either. Since I have a sub to the Dramafever website, I'd really like to see if it will work on my Fire - anyone w/access to the Android Market want to share it with me? Thanks!

(Hope it's not against the rules to post this)

That's odd. I don't see any reason why this App wouldn't work with the Fire.

Try sideloading it and see if it works. If you do not know how do a search of this forum. Dropbox is my preferred way, but check out the other ways.

It sounds to me like the OP can't GET it to side load it since she does not have a device compatible with android market. He/She is asking if anyone can get it for her so she can side load it.

Thanks so much, it works great, exactly what I was hoping for! I wonder why Amazon has it listed as not compatible with the Fire? It really doesn't compete with Amazon Prime videos, as Dramafever's offerings are mostly Asian language with subtitles. Strange.

Because the Fire is fairly new and there are thousands of Apps, Amazon hasn't had an opportunity to test them all to ensure full compatibility with the Fire. However, I encourage you to give Amazon feedback so the App can be freely available to all Fire owners who desire to have it. You wil see this from time to time with other Apps as well so look to an alternative App Store (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=158213) whenever this is the case or ask someone here and maybe they can help. Glad the App worked for you.

Side note on Amazon's incorrect information on what apps work on the Fire. Three of the apps that are preinstalled: IMDb, Audible, and Pulse, are shown by Amazon as not compatibe with the Fire. Since they can't even supply correct information on those, I view with strong suspicion any information suppllied regarding compatability.

Those apps on the Fire are especially made for it. Hardware wise, pretty much every app under the sun works on the Fire. It's only the 10" tablet ones that don't.

The stock Fire ROM has a menu bar double the size of a typical Android setup. That is pretty much what stops most app compatibility for us. And since Gingerbread is not really a tablet optimized OS, developers have to make HD versions specifically tailored to our nice resolution.

That doesn't explain why apps that Amazon displays on the Kindle Fire Apps web page are shown as not compatible with the Kindle Fire when you click on them. That makes absolutely no sense.

Well, it's certainly confusing; I'll give you that. But I think the point is that since the apps you mention are already installed on the KF (and cannot be removed), the versions in the Amazon Appstore may not be optimized for the KF and KF owners would have no need to download them, anyway.

This.

The IMDB app for KF is 1,000,000x better than the normal Android version. Same with the Amazon Mobile store.

free app readers for KF

Whenever I find a free eBook reader for the KF I get the message, "You don't have any devices." This is true with the Aldiko & Blio. I've tried Google Play and that doesn't seem to work either. Yes, I'm a noobie, so I need straight forward instructions of how to get these apps. Please help... thanks so much; appreciate it.
