Python gobbling me, HELP

[Bookworm128]

Windows 7 Pro Calibre V 8.51; can't add books from PC to Calibre by any method; it just hangs interminably with tempting abort button
Running debug mode crashes with the screen showing Python function
terminated unexpectedly(Error 5) Access is denied (Error code: 1). Tried uninstalling completely using Revo uninstaller, windows uninstaller, re-installing....NOTHING appears to work. Any one can help PLEEEEEEEEEEASE! Btw there's no other other sw which comes anywhere close to this one https://www2.mobileread.com/i/smilies/smile.gif
