Just joined today
I am a female senior who loves books. I have been an avid reader since
grammar school. My second grade teacher introduced us all to the world of books with our daily Reading Hour. She read to us a book called Just Plain Maggie, about a girl going to camp and learning how to swim. I was transported! Maggie learn to float and then swim past all her fears. The book that sold me altogether was The Secret Garden. I realize my teacher was too slow for me and when I found out that I could take books home from the Library room, just across the hall, I read The Secret Garden for myself in one evening. Ahh books were for me One constant adventure. So it remains today more than 60 plus years past those days. I look forward to new adventures right here. Cadilla  bookworm

Do you have any interest in Science Fiction/Fantasy novels. Some members have a deal going where if you are interested you recieve a code via private mail in this forum (sometimes called PM), once you recieve the code you can download a package of books for free from a company called Baen at baenebooks.com. You might notice my ticker below. That is becuase I am taking part in a yearly challenge to read a certain number of books per year. My particular challenge is to read 14,000 pages in 2012. I build the ticker to help me visualize how far I have come and how far I have yet to go and I post it in the signature line (sometimes called a sig line) to show I am making progress.
