Converting to Nook

I have had a Sony PRS 650 which just died, and I bought a Nook Glow, as it is the only one with a light. I had been using Calibre to load books to the Sony in epub format. I brought home my Glow, told Calibre that is what I have (at least I think I did), left the format as epub (and most of the books were purchased from various places as epubs anyway) and loaded my books onto the memory card. I open my files on the Nook and try to open one of the books and am told "The NOOK cannot read this file. It may be an unsupported format." It does show in the list of files as epub... I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Can anyone help?

Most likely your epub files are DRMed, you can check that by trying to view them in calibre. If they are DRMed then the only way to read them on your Nook is to either remove the DRM or re-purchase them from B&N or download a pirated copy.

No, that isn't it - I've removed any DRM.
I found that if I move the file without Calibre, it is readable.
I think that with Calibre, the folder is being moved, and the Nook hasn't the sense to look inside it...
So I need to be working on renaming them as I want for author-series-series#-title, and getting them out of the folders, before trying to move them. This is going to be a learning experience...

Why not use a plugboard to handle that as being sent to the Nook?

Sorry, was not intending to ignore anyone - just haven't had time to check the forum (and this next week is going to be more of the same).
I hope to use the plugboards, but haven't figured them out yet. Whatever I did with them on the PRS650 didn't seem to have any effect on the way the books loaded on the reader. I just need time (and searching MR) to figure this out. Don't even remember where this is done in Calibre! I'm hoping to end up with author(last, first)-series-series#-title, when I do get a chance to work on it.
