Best typo ever
"I was feeling a little horse."
And no, I wasn't reading animal porn. |

The very first submission I sent out got rejected. Not really surprising, when I realised I was trying to sell a story about a "spare vampire".

Misuse of homonyms is often, sadly, down to ignorance rather than typing errors.

I blame English for that, idiotic piece of ... I hope in some time future there is reform and direct connect with spelling and pronociation, would make life much simpler... After that, to get rid of irregularities...

For example, I just read a sentence in a book where there are some people stood next to some laptops. A character asks, "What are these?". The reply is, "Their computers". If we couldn't distinguish between 'their' and 'they're' by spelling it would not necessarily have come across from that that these computers belonged to the nearby people. That's just one, hastily recalled, example. I'm sure there are many more/better ones. |

I disagree with the comment about spoken dialogue. If that was in a film, for example, the words "Their computers" would be accompanied by a point to the people, or a nod, or something. It can also be inflected differently, something that you can't portray in the written word. |
