I am looking to get an ebook for textbooks at school and for pure enjoyment, is there any recomendation of which one would fit my needs?
I want one that is clear and easy and that will benefit my college experience. |

Pretty generic requirements and there is a ton of choices. But first welcome to MR.
If you don't need to use it in bright sunlight, probably a tablet would be a good choice .. given that you want to use if for school and probably PDF files and maybe email/internet. |

For a tablet I would suggest you look at Le Pan on Amazon and see what you think of the reveiws. It has a fantastic screen and just works for me. The battery is pretty good. It is a 10 inch, if that is too big try a 7 inch.
If for just reading .txt books then a kindle or nook would work but some tablets are about the same price. |

By the way, "ebook" usually refers to the content, and "e-reader" or "ebook reader" refers to the device.

For educational use, I'd get either an iPad or an equivalent Android tablet. Much more versatile than an eInk device for textbooks, etc.

I suggest getting The New iPad. The screen is very nice.

I would recommend an iPad 2 for your needs.
For text books, PDF's and tekst documents (And games/enjoyment!), you shouldn't get an e-reader but a tablet, and for that, the iPad is the head of the pack. No need to get the iPad 3, so save yourself some $$$. |

Like others said, I think you would be ok with the new iPad of previous iPad2 model. They are fast enough for reading PDFs and you can install the B&N or Kindle app, allowing you access to both online stores without having to mess with DRM protection and encryption. By the way, the word is "ereader" or tablet, not "ebook". ;-) |
