Why do you do this to me, Kobo?

I bought "Throttle" by Joe Hill on 22/4/2012 @1.99+tax and today it's 0.99c.

It's this type of thing that really gets on my nerves! Yes, it's only a dollar, but why would I want to pay more than I had too?

http://www.kobobooks.com/ebook/Throt...pAg/page1.html

So I made the mistake of calling customer service. And she just told me it was my misfortune.

Makes me feel less guilty about using ALL those promo codes.

I'm no sure I see the injustice here. This happens in the digital game market all the time. People buy a game for full price and then the next day see it on sale for half price. People whinge about it of course but that's not going to change anything. I probably would as well-but that's life I guess.

I bought A Night to Remember from Kindle on April 14th for $8.54. A couple of days later it was a deal of the day for $1.99.

I don't understand; you paid $1.99 because you thought it was worth that, and presumably you would feel like you got your monies worth if the price hadn't fallen. So what if the price drops later? Is the issue just that other people can get it for less than what you paid? And what if the price had dropped 4 days later, or a week, or a month? Would you still have felt cheated?

I think everybody is taking the OP a little too seriously.

If you buy something at a store and the next day it goes on sale, what harm is there in taking a shot and seeing if they'll give it to you at the sale price? I really don't think the OP was that upset about it. Hence the at the end of the post and the mild joke about guil over using coupon codes.

If I'm wrong, then I apologize for interrupting.

Ouch! Thanks, I feel better about my measly dollar!

Did you ever contact Amazon to see if they'd do anything to help?
A company must know, to grant a customer a store credit, only serves to ensure a customer will come back!

What bothers me, is Kobo CS told me it was the "Deal of the Week" but, I bought it this past Sunday-
So isn't that the same week? Prolly what annoys me mostly, is the poor explanation I received.

Many companies guarantee their prices for a period of 30 days, and offer an adjustment if it goes on sale within that time.
(ie: Future Shop, WM)
I think within a week would be my threshold. A month is a little lengthy to expect price stability, I imagine.

It doesn't seem just to me, that everyone who buys this book after me will get it for 1/2 of what I paid.

If it is what it is, I'll have to accept that.
AND a BIG to all, for the food for thought!

Thanks, Ninjalawyer, for putting things into perspective.

Just wait for the posts from people who buy a Kobo Touch today and find that it drops in price on the 27th. And then there is the storm when people buy the current device and then find that there is brand new one available within weeks.

No, I just figured them's the breaks. I've gotten good deals before so it was ok & I was ok with the price at the time so..... It all balances out in the end. It wasn't a huge difference so I didn't think the effort was worth it but if it was $10 or more I think I may have picked up the phone.

I agree its annoying, but if something is value for money for you when you buy it I dont see the issue.

what if the price goes up after you bought something, should the shop bill you the extra when its been increased.
