If I purchase my mom a Kindle 4 NT is there a way for me to set up the wifi password for her house without me actually being there? In other words, is there a way for me to have the kindle sent here, me set it all up, and enter HER wifi password so that when she turns it on at her house it will go ahead and connect?

Yes silverran that is possible if and only if you know two little peices of information. You will need to the network ID and password for her network, using that you really do not need to be at her place to get it setup for her.

Since my son set that all up for her, yes I know that info. My son took a stab at setting up the Kindle, but we won't know if it works till it gets there. Any pointers?

Amazon has a video that can walk you or your mom through the process to set up wifi.
