Kobo Vox for Dummies coming out
Just read that a Dummies guide to the Kobo Vox is finally coming out..but
not until July 31st! That will be almost one year since the device was first introduced. Why is it taking so long? You can't even preorder it at Chapters yet and there isn't an ereader edition either. |

Well, a real dummy wouldn't know how to load an ereader version, so a hard copy is appropriate.
![]() But seriously, you wouldn't expect the book to come out before there was a demand. Looks like there's a demand now! |

not really sure if a dummies guide to the Vox is needed (personally)
If you are using it to read kobo books its fairly straightforward with the icons at the bottom, anything else can be learnt with a basic android book/magazine |

I too find the though of a 'for dummies' book somewhat useless in this day in age.

Maybe the book is one page long, with URLs to Google and Mobilread?
More seriously though: a lot of people prefer everything to be in one place. A well written book does that while information tends to be scattered across websites or forum postings. Other people find books to be more reliable sources for information, and if you look at the banter back and forth on a forum that's partially true. I'm not going to buy the book because the type of stuff covered by that sort of book is the sort of stuff that I could figure out on my own (without looking online). But I think it's kinda silly to dismiss the book simply because other people may be interested in it. |

A lot of people would prefer a hard copy book as a reference rather than having to search the web for information because it's always there, not dependant on a computer working and a reliable Internet connection. Not everyone is as tech savvy as most of us here, but everyone can read a book. The trouble with book is they take a long time to get published, so the information can be obsolete before it's even printed. Even on line, there are Vox tutorials that are out of date.
