The good stuff in the KDP Select exclusive-or-else slushpile is repeats (but they're high-quality repeats which have been previously title-featured, in case you missed them earlier).

So for today's feature selection, I defaulted to the most promising and Relevant To My Interests item (actually, I think the medieval Black Death thing looks more appealing, but it's self-pub from an established author and this one's genuine multiply-printed backlist which someone besides the author's friends & family & any lingering fans has actually read), which is an historical drama set during one of the Irish rebellions, which seems to have gotten decent newspaper praise and looks reasonably interesting.

As the Irish Times quote puts it: "Although I started off thinking this would be a love story, an incredible tale of political corruption began to unfold."

Hopefully it lives up to expectations.

Tread Softly On My Dreams by previously-included Gretta Curran Browne, who seems to be yet another backlist author who has yet to master the intricacies of the capslock key as it applies to entering her book's title in the Amazon listings, was originally published by Hodder's Headline imprint in 1991 and subsequently picked up for reprint by one Wolfhound in 1998.

No non-repeat sf/fantasy/speculative today, but we do have some interesting historical/period thrillers and a few romances for the romance readers. And people interested in English shipwrecks get a real treat today.

Diane Amos offers her romantic comedy/chick-lit adventure which riffs on reality TV-type contests, originally out from Five Star Expressions in 2005: Winner Takes All

Iain Edward Henn claims to have had short fiction published in various outlets and that his murder suspense/conspiracy thriller novel was a Quarterfinalist for the Amazon Breakthrough Award, so if you want to try a probably-vetted indie: The Delta Chain

Malcolm Lyon's Christian historical fiction drama set in ancient Roman Africa seems to have come out from a small press in 2006 and he quotes blurb praise from religious outlets for it, and I like ancient Roman historicals in general and this one has a dragon on the cover, so if you're interested: The Bronze Ladder
