Question Anyone know/ recommend a repair shop?

I've only gone and damaged the ribbon cable whilst replacing the battery on my beloved PRS-505. ( it's blue and lovely!)

I've run through the registration on the sony site and nearly had kittens when the repair cost of over £175 was quoted.

That's more than the device was bought for brand new, from the states before it was out here in the UK, with shipping!!!!

So helpful posters, can you recommend a repair shop/site/ parts supplier that can undercut the unbelieviable amount quoted????

It looks like you are not alone with this problem. Read this thread: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=95991

Edit: Ok, seems you already found this thread as there is your comment. My bad.

I think any money you spend repairing it would be better spent on a new reader. It'll likely cost you about the same so why stay with old technology instead of putting that money on new?
