I accidentally screwed up the start.sh script which starts the main Kindle app. The script is written in such a way that it tries to restart the app a few times then reboots. After a few reboots I get the "Your Kindle Needs Repair" screen. I have the correct copy of the file and all I need is copy it over to correct my mistake but I can no longer get into the USB shell. Is there a way I can enable usbNetwork while in recovery mode or something like that? I don't have the anti-brick hack (alas). Any help is appreciated. Thanks! |

Have you tried by holding the On/Off switch for 15 secs or more?? It is supposed to reset the kindle. Try it if you have not tried it before. |

I wonder if i can just make a small package that will revert my change. Does the Kindle pick up update packages on every reboot?

If you re-post in the sub-forum "Kindle Developer's Corner" - someone can probably send you a copy of your corrupted file.

If you follow the thread, you should be able to follow the directions. It does take some doing so allot about an hour for the whole process. | |
