The rumors have been flying lately that Amazon is on the verge of announcing probably several new Kindles. So here is a fun little poll. When will Amazon announce their new Kindle line up?

It's usually end of August, isn't it? I only remember because I got a Kindle for my August birthday one year and the next version was announced weeks later!

Amazon isn't predictable when it comes to Kindle releases:

Nov 07 -- Kindle 1
Feb 09 -- Kindle 2
Jun 09 -- Kindle DX
Aug 10 -- Kindle 3
Sep 11 -- Kindle 4
Nov 11 -- Kindle Touch, Kindle Fire

My prediction is before Black Friday (23 Nov). It's the single most important shopping day of the holiday season. If it's not on the shelves, most shoppers will get something that is.

I think it is amusing that "Who gives a flying fig." is tied for the lead.

People had to go to a site aimed at discussing topics about eReaders, then click a link labeled "Poll: When will Amazon announce their new Kindle line up?", then vote for "Who gives a flying fig."

BTW, I'm not saying this with sarcasm. I really do think it is funny.

According to my order history on my Amazon account, they shipped my Kindle 4NT to me on September 30, 2011, and the announcement was made earlier than that.

I stand corrected. It was available on the day it was announced - 28 Sep 2011. The Touch and Fire weren't available until mid-November 2011.

I'm sure that they will introduce an internal light like B&N did with the Nook Glowlight.
