Kindle 4 Frozen on System Diagnostics Screen

Hi everyone!!

I recently purchased a Kindle 4 (Non-Touch with special offers). In order to get custom screen savers, I followed a YouTube video, and ended up with a frozen screen on the diagnostics mode.

This is what I did:
1. Created a file 'ENABLE_DIAGS'.
2. Restarted my Kindle.

Please help!

Did you plug the kindle into your computer and remove the enable diags file? do that tand then restart.

Also if that doesn't work try the mfg tool in geekmaster's thread.

MfgTool is in "Select Boot" thread, linked from the "simple debricking" sticky thread. It temporarliy sets the bootmode and boots to your choice of fastboot, main, or diags. It does not save the value, so a restart will go to whatever mode was last saved. You can change the bootmode and save it using fastboot, or diags.

Your custom screensavers might not be compatible with your firmware version. Newer firmware versions break older hacks, sometimes bricking kindles.

You can (almost) always debrick a K4 or K5 using instructions in the simple debricking thread.
