I was told that this device works with zip files but I cant figure out why its not working. I tried adding zips to the reader program and they just plain don't show up and when I move them directly to the ebook folder on my device they don't show up when I look. I don't know what I am missing or maybe I was mis informed about the zip files be acceptable file formats for this device. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It doesn't support zip files.. just epub, pdf .txt... plus mp3, gif, jpg the device will ignore formats it doesn't support which is why you don't see them

There's no reason to put epubs in a zip file, because epub is a zip file. However, I tried it now and can confirm that zip files are ignored indeed.

On the other hand, if you have a rooted device, CoolReader can read books even out of zip files.
