brand new T1 out of the box.
hello.

taking the T1 brand new out of the box.. do I have to install sw onto the ereader before anything else... i see the sticky on top to install sony ereader sw .. but when I just fully charged it ... it does not have any prompts to do this.

The reader will be good to go with just charging. They're referring to the Sony software for your PC to enable you to purchase from the Sony store and sync your reader to your PC.

You can also register your device using Adobe software for other sources of books.

The PC SW will also update your firmware (if needed)but the general consensus seems to be that if you MUST use a library manager you should use CALIBRE , personally I just drag-n-drop (or drop-box to load books and use the device sw to organize, much dimplier and you avoid all the sync problems
