Default zoom and Special Offers
Hey Guys, just got my Kindle Keyboard a few days ago and I'm loving it so far!
But I have a few questions. I put a few manga on it. It looks okay as is, but looks perfect if you zoom in once. It fills the whole screen and looks great. My question is: is there any way to make that the default zoom? FWIW, the manga are all HQ pdfs/ cbrs converted to mobis through calibre. Thanks in advance! Darn.
Also, for some reasons, ads just appeared on my lockscreen. Why is that? They weren't there for the past few days, but after trying out the web browser, ads suddenly showed up. What on earth is going on? |

Well, I suppose you purchased the Special Offers version of the Kindle... so displaying ads is part of the deal.

I would understand that, but does it take that long for the special offers to intiate?
I bought it from ebay, so it's certainly possible that it's a special offer kindle, but for the first few days of my owning it, it didn't have any ads on it, and they only showed up after I tried to use the web browser. |

There have been various reports here that ads do not show up for prolonged periods of time on SO-Kindles (for unknown reasons), then start reappearing again. Maybe you simply started using it during a period where no ads were pushed out. Downloading ads of course also requires internet connectivity, as does web browsing. Maybe you have simply always been offline before that.
... and given that the thread title reads "Default zoom and Special Offers", I assume that you know that you have a KSO (even if you didn't mention anything concerning that in your first post).

Makes sense. It needs Internet to load the ads. I'm guessing you didn't have the Internet setup before that
