Updating Problem

Hi
I tried to upgrade to the latest version. I do this regularly. When I try to install the update I get a message saying that there is already an update running and to wait for it to finish. It never does. This is not a general computer problem. I can install other programs just fine. I tried to uninstall
Calibre and got the same message. I am running XP Pro with all current updates and fixes. P4 2.8 processor with 2 gigs of ram. I'm no expert but not with out some computer knowledge.

If any one has a fix for this problem let me know.

My Calibre program and Library are on a seperate partition on my hard drive so I could wipe that partition and do a clean install if that will help. I would like to avoid wiping the entire hard drive if possible.

Version 8.39 is what is currently running. It is functioning fine.

Have you rebooted?
Calibre is finding a tell tale of the installation process is still running.

To install, Calibre (and the Content server) must be stopped

Rebooting was one of the first things I tried. No Luck.
