5+ sec loading every page turn

I have a PDF book in 3000+ pages. The first 1000 pages turned smoothly, but it becomes harder and slower to read after it reached 1000th pages and beyond when it loads for 5 sec for every page turn.

Any thing I can do it fix this ?

I would exit out of the book. Power on and off and then try to continue where you were reading from.

Another option is to use Calibre and convert the PDF to a EPUB. I have seen this with PDF files.

It may not be possible to get a good conversion from PDF to epub. I think you may be better off breaking the PDF into 3. There are a bunch of different utilities which will do this. Look around on Google for one that works on your platform.

On the other hand I observed a similar problem even though I used Calibre to convert a simple text PDF (less than 200 pages)to ePub. The further I got into the book the longer the page turns took. Haven't had my T1 for long so I cannot judge how odd, or not, this is.

It depends on the structure of the converted ePUB document. Normal ePUB books are divided in one xhtml file per chapter with a table of content structure that links the chapters together and everything is packaged in a zip file with the epub extension. The beginning of each chapter is on a new page => each chapter is formated independently. If the PDF to ePUB conversion generated a single xhtml file for the whole book, the slowdown when reaching the end of the book is normal (I never tried this kind of conversion with Calibre).

Is there an easy way to combine ePub files with a table of contents in Calibre? If so, perhaps a good option is to split the PDF by sections, convert individual PDFs to ePub, and then combine the ePub.
