If anyone has a solutins to my problem,a little help would be great. Everytime I plug my ereader(sony prs-t1) in to reader for pc file, a screen pops up reader for pc has stopped working a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close program, and then it closes. Is there an easy fix or do I take it to a pro. Thanks for your help.

Your first step shpould to start PC reader without plugging in your reader - if it loads ok then click on help and then "check for updates" this will ensure you have the latest version of the software here are the basic pc reqs for running reader -

Windows 7 Starter
Windows 7 Home Basic
Windows 7 Home Premium
Windows 7 Professional
Windows 7 Ultimate
Microsoft Windows Vista (32-bit and 64-bit)
Windows Vista Home Basic with Service Pack 2 or later
Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 2 or later
Windows Vista Business with Service Pack 2 or later
Windows Vista Ultimate with Service Pack 2 or later
Microsoft Windows XP (32-bit only)
Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 3 or later
Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004/2005 with Service Pack 3 or later
Apple Macintosh
Mac OS X version 10.6.6 or later (32-bit and 64-bit)
Mac OS X version 10.5.8 or later (32-bit only)
CPU
1 GHz Intel processor or better
RAM
128 MB or more (Minimum 512 MB for Windows 7 and Windows Vista)
Hard Disk Space
250 MB or more
The required free space depends on the total volume of content.

Display
24-bit (true color) or greater, 960 × 720 or higher screen resolution
Others
High Speed USB 2.0 port
Mouse or other pointing device
Notes
An Internet connection (broadband recommended, some fees may apply) is also required.
Reader software does not support:
Operating systems that are not listed above
Customized (modified) operating systems and hardware
Upgraded operating systems from pre-installs
Multi-boot systems
Multi-display systems
Reader PRS-500

If you meet the above and you can load thePC Reader software without the device then it would appear to be the T1 causing the problem. Can you plug the T1 in using data transfer mode and see it in Explorer? it should show up as a drive called Reader when you click on My Computer, PC reader is not essential... in fact I only use it for Firmware updates
