Author sorting help please?

My Calibre has always sorted my authors by first name : eg Stephen king goes with Stephen Parker etc.

Originally I didn't like it but now I'm used to it as it is sorted the same way as my kindle.

Now all of a sudden my authors are being sorted by last names!

I don't know what I did to change it but I hate it and want it back the other way!

How do I change it back to sorting by first names?

There is a Tick box on Preferences: Output options: Mobi Output
to use Author Sort (No, I don't know what was default ). If you have previously converted books, those will use the setting that was in place THEN unless you 1)make the change on the conversion screen. 2) Use the Restore button at the bottom, which will then use the current preferences.
