THere are different toolbars for when a device is connected and when it is not. Have you checked the settings for each under Preferences?

Did just you happen to remove something from the 'when connected' toolbar that you did not recognise?

Have not checked the device under both preferences only when device not connected. Will try when connected and see what happens!!!!!

Have now managed to get 'device' to show in toolbar. Probably due to the fact that Kindle was not connected and I clicked something I shouldn't. Thanks everyone. Miven
