Proxy Access Issues

Has anyone been able to get proxy authentication to work with this product? I am pulling in my proxy settings fine but I don't think the application is smart enough to use the cached credentials for authentication. If I configure the environment variable solution it works great but then I am exposing a password which is unacceptable. Any assistance or guidance would be greatly appreciated. I can see this application gaining a lot of traction in large enterprises so this is something that should be addressed in the application configuration.
