Okay. This is why I try not to pay any attention to contests like this.
Personally, I thought the story was maudlin. I didn't believe for an instant that a five-year-old boy would be worrying about his wedding caterer or in the slightest bit interested in how he met his imaginary wife. A story can be dripping with sentiment and have me in tears, because I'm a sucker for that kind of thing, but I just didn't buy this one. Thanks for the link, though! |

She closed the book, placed it on the table, and finally, decided to walk through the door. She then found herself inside a dimly lit room filled with monkeys. The first one she encountered asked, "did you bring the bananas?"

When my son was around 4, he went through some great existential angst because he didn't know who he was supposed to marry, or how to get married. Ghu only knows what brought that up, maybe some of the girls in his kindergarten were playing bride? anyway, he was terribly upset and it took a lot to calm him down and explain that he didn't need to worry about it for years yet.

It's on another thread on this board. You can take a list of HTML links and make an ePub out of the contents (and share for others, too). There is some discussion there about the best use of it. To me, a series of short stories like this is ideal and might get me to actually use the app.
