I here am new

Hello, it's been a while since I've posted on a forum. Used to do it all the time when I was a teenager, XD I've been reading ebooks on my iPod Touch for about a year now, thinking about getting myself a Kindle Fire, since both my SO and my brother have one. My favorite genre is sci-fi/fantasy, but I'll read just about anything that looks to be appealing.

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Not only old user of 'bulletin boards' (remember what those were?) but new to eReader stuff -- but catching on. Kids gave me a Kindle Fire for Christmas and grandkids made me try it out -- now couldn't do without. Reading more, with quality stuff I never got around to instead of cheap senseless paperbacks. If you are looking for a reader/tablet, you can't do better than the Kindle Fire -- in my opinion. Does everything the iPad and any other android tablet does only faster and better and with half the footprint. But couldn't do without Calibre. And especially its workbox of plug-ins.

lol, I'm not quite old enough to have actually used bulletin boards, but I do remember them.

Everyone I know seems to have a Fire, lol I love my iPod and it's surprisingly good as an ebook reader, but while I can live with the small screen, I look at the Fire's larger screen and seethe in envy.

I've used Calibre to convert books to mobi and put them on my SO's Fire, so I can see where it's essential XD, and I'm hoping to find out more about these plugins you speak of

Oh, wow, someone who does speak my language! Bulletin Boards! Loved them.
I am new here too, and I feel like I am in OZ. They speak a different language here, that I will have to learn. I bought a Fire a couple of weeks ago, and am loving it. Glad to know someone else is familiar with my vocabulary. I have a lot to learn.
